Job summary

Wodensborough Ormiston Academy, part of Ormiston Academies Trust, is seeking a Head of History to lead the department and shape the History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4. You will drive high standards in teaching, learning and achievement, using data to ensure every student progresses, regardless of starting point.

The role emphasises collaboration, professional development, and a strong commitment to inclusive education within a popular 11–16 mainstream school and its ARC/Deaf Academy

Qualifications

• Strong subject knowledge with proven outcomes in History.
• Ability to lead, inspire and develop colleagues, fostering collaboration.
• Experience using assessment and performance data to raise achievement.
• Consistently strong teaching record and commitment to engaging, inclusive lessons.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of an ambitious History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4.
