Job summary

Wodensborough Ormiston Academy seeks a Head of History to lead the development of an ambitious History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 and to drive high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. You will use data to close attainment gaps and promote continuous improvement within the History department.

You will lead the development of an ambitious and engaging History curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4, driving high standards of teaching, learning and achievement. Through strong leadership, effective use of data and a commitment to continuous improvement, you will help ensure every student can thrive, regardless of their starting point.

We are a popular and oversubscribed 11-16 mainstream school with the additional expertise and facilities to include two focused SEND provisions for young people on the autistic spectrum, and for those who are deaf and hearing impaired (ARC and Deaf Academy). Our small and bespoke sixth form (WOA6) caters for students in Years 12 and 13 who have EHCPs.
