Practice Plus Group - Health in Justice seeks a Head of Healthcare to lead on-site clinical services at HMP Leeds, a Category B adult male reception and resettlement prison in Armley, Leeds. Core hours are Monday–Friday with an up-to-£75,000 salary, plus a £4,000 car allowance and 10% discretionary bonus.

The role offers bespoke induction, leadership development, and a strong support network within a busy, high-demand secure environment.

Formación

• Degree or appropriate equivalent level of experience or clinical qualification
• Inclusive leadership approach embedding a culture of continuous progression and innovation
• Demonstrate high levels of resilience, rapid decision-making, and the ability to work collaboratively with prison, healthcare, and external stakeholder teams to manage risk and deliver high-quality care
• Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
• Ability to influence and deliver information to key partners and stakeholders
• Experience as a CQC registered manager, or equivalent registered body

Responsabilidades

• Provide pro-active management of the healthcare services on site. This will include maintaining the strategic direction of the service and delivering agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England.
• Be responsible for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within the budget, with support from the wider directorate team.
• Form part of the prison senior leadership team, working with other key stakeholders to ensure that the contract becomes highly functional, and healthcare services become fully embedded with the prison as a whole.
• HMP Leeds is a busy Category B remand prison, with a healthcare workforce of over 90 staff. It is a highly dynamic and fast-paced environment characterised by constant prisoner admissions, transfers, releases, and court movements.
• Ensure agreed standards are achieved by leading, developing and motivating your team ensuring they receive appropriate supervision and performance appraisal.
