Job summary

Newstone Talent Solutions in London seeks a Head of Hard Services to own engineering operations across a diverse property portfolio. This is a hands-on leadership role combining technical credibility with people management to ensure compliance and high service standards.

You will regularly visit sites, check standards, engage with engineers and customers, and drive accountability, improvements, and value for money across the portfolio.

Qualifications

• Experience in hard services, building services engineering or technical facilities management.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and HVAC systems.
• Experience managing engineers, contractors and maintenance programmes across multiple sites.
• Hands-on approach with time spent on site rather than on a desk.
• Strong customer-facing skills and ability to challenge poor performance.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage and develop the engineering team, ensuring accountability for performance and delivery.
• Regularly visit sites to assess service standards, inspect work and ensure compliance.
• Ensure maintenance is completed with proper records and evidence.
• Build strong customer relationships through site visits and proactive communication.
• Monitor third-party contractors and ensure contractual obligations and service standards.
