Job summary

MHS Homes is seeking a Head of Governance to lead the Governance Team and strengthen decision-making across the organisation. You will work closely with the Board, Committees and Executive Team in a high-visibility role.

Job description

We're seeking a Head of Governance to lead our Governance Team and strengthen decision-making across mhs homes. You'll work closely with our Board, Committees, and Executive Team in this visible, influential position.

What You'll Be Doing

• Leading and developing our governance framework, policies and ways of working
• Ensuring effective Board, Committee and leadership meetings with clear, well-informed decisions
• Leading governance reporting to boards and committees
• Overseeing regulatory compliance, statutory registers, records and returns
• Strengthening risk management, assurance and internal audit arrangements

Strong experience in governance, risk and compliance from social housing, education, public sector, or another regulated environment

• Confident working with Boards and Committees
• Comfortable interpreting regulation and guidance
• Clear communicator and strong organiser who takes pride in accurate, high-quality work
• Supportive leader who develops others, builds confidence and creates continuous improvement culture

Salary: Up to £70,000
