Preply is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager for GenAI & Agentic Platforms in London. You will own engineering strategy, execution, and org health across two teams, guiding architecture and production AI while coaching engineers.

You’ll partner with Product, Data, Security, and Engineering to align platform standards, drive outcomes, and balance long-term investments with near-term needs, shaping a reusable platform used by multiple teams.

Formación

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in engineering management and experience leading multiple teams or a multi-squad technical area.
• Track record of hiring, coaching, and retaining high-performing teams.
• Strong technical depth in platform engineering, backend or distributed systems, ML infrastructure or developer infrastructure.
• Practical experience with production GenAI or Agentic systems and the ability to reason about model access, evaluation, observability, retrieval, agent orchestration, tools, state, permissions, reliability, cost, and safety.
• AI Expertise: using Agentic AI to support architecture, planning, and decision-making while maintaining human judgment for architecture, people decisions, business logic, and security.
• Experience leading platform products with a focus on self-service, API design, developer experience, adoption and avoiding unnecessary complexity.
• Clear communication and stakeholder leadership to align teams with different incentives.

Responsabilidades

• Set the long-term engineering vision for GenAI Platform and the Agentic Platform, ensuring they operate as a single, coherent platform.
• Partner with the Product Manager across both teams to define outcomes, prioritize investments, and measure impact.
• Lead and develop approximately 8-12 engineers across two teams through clear expectations, feedback, and coaching.
• Own hiring quality, team composition, evolving team boundaries, and operating models as platforms and company evolve.
• Guide architecture across model access, evaluation, observability, retrieval, agent orchestration, tools, state, memory, permissions and control planes.
• Translate strategy into realistic plans balancing foundational investment with near-term product needs while surfacing trade-offs.
• Align senior stakeholders across Product, Data, Security and Engineering on platform standards and priorities.
