Head of Financial Accounting - £80,000 - £90,000 - Basingstoke - Hybrid Working & Benefits - Housing - ACCA/CIMA/ACA

IN2 Consult is partnering with a leading company in the Housing sector, a key player in their market, to find a Head of Financial Accounting to join their expanding finance team.

This role is ideal for someone experienced in technical accounting for multiple entities, team leadership, and involved in year-end audits.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading the consolidation and preparation of annual statutory accounts, financial statements, and regulatory submissions.
• Managing the year-end audit process with external auditors.
• Analyzing emerging accounting standards and legislation, providing strategic insights.
• Improving reporting frameworks and internal processes through automation and best practices.
• Maintaining the chart of accounts for comprehensive reporting.
• Delivering financial statements for legal entities covering income, balance sheet, and cash flow.
• Acting as the main contact for statutory and regulatory financial reviews and audits.

Accounting & Compliance:

• Overseeing ledger close processes and ensuring control adherence.
• Defining and maintaining accounting policies aligned with UK GAAP (FRS 102).
• Collaborating with tax, procurement, and planning teams.
• Ensuring balance sheet integrity through reconciliations.
• Managing fixed assets and disclosures.
• Monitoring regulatory updates and ensuring compliance.

Leadership:

• Providing strategic and operational leadership to the finance team.
• Managing resources and priorities for timely, quality outputs.
