Job summary

Michael Page in Peterborough is recruiting for Head of Finance - Operations to oversee finance operations across multiple group businesses and provide strong financial control and reporting. The role combines operational finance oversight with financial controller responsibilities to support day-to-day decisions.

You will partner with senior leaders, drive profitability through P&L analysis, strengthen controls and reporting processes, and play a pivotal role in delivery of the group's growth

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing finance operations and financial control activities.
• Strong capability in management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience reviewing financial performance and presenting clear financial information.
• Knowledge of effective financial controls and finance processes.
• Ability to work across operational and finance teams on practical financial matters.
• Confidence identifying process improvements within an Accounting & Finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across multiple group businesses
• Own management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
• Drive profitability through P&L analysis and commercial insight
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial forecasting
• Improve credit control, debtor management and cash collection
• Strengthen financial controls, systems and reporting processes
• Partner with senior leaders to enhance business performance
• Ensure compliance, risk management and reporting accuracy
• Build a commercially focused, high-performing finance team
• Support the CEO and CFO in delivering the group's growth plans
