Job summary

Michael Page is assisting a High-Impact client in Peterborough to recruit a Head of Finance - Operations. The role combines operational finance oversight with financial controller responsibilities to support informed day-to-day decisions.

You will oversee the finance function across multiple group businesses, owning management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and reporting while driving profitability through P&L analysis and commercial insight.

Qualifications

• Experience overseeing finance operations and financial control activities.
• Strong capability in management reporting, budgeting and forecasting.
• Experience reviewing financial performance and presenting clear financial information.
• Knowledge of effective financial controls and finance processes.
• Ability to work across operational and finance teams on practical financial matters.
• Confidence identifying process improvements within an Accounting & Finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across multiple group businesses.
• Own management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Drive profitability through P&L analysis and commercial insight.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial forecasting.
• Improve credit control, debtor management and cash collection.
• Strengthen financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
• Partner with senior leaders to enhance business performance.
• Ensure compliance, risk management and reporting accuracy.
• Build a commercially focused, high-performing finance team.
• Support the CEO and CFO in delivering the group's growth plans.
