Job summary

Michael Page (UK) has partnered with a large, complex, research-led organisation undergoing significant growth to appoint a Head of Finance / Financial Controller. You will lead a finance team and take overall responsibility for financial management across several business units, providing high-quality financial insight, robust controls, and strategic planning.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Proven track record in senior finance leadership roles.
• Experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
• Experience leading and developing finance teams.
• Strong stakeholder management and business insight.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a finance team with coaching.
• Oversee monthly management accounts, quarterly reporting, annual statements.
• Lead budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning.
• Provide strategic financial advice to senior leadership.
• Ensure robust financial controls, governance and compliance.
• Monitor performance; identify risks/opportunities; recommend actions.
• Deliver insightful financial analysis for decisions.
• Oversee income streams including grants and contracts.
• Lead annual financial returns and submissions.
• Drive improvement in systems, reporting and efficiency.
• Support growth initiatives and capital investment programmes.
