Job summary

ACCA Careers is seeking a Head of Finance - Operations in Peterborough to lead the finance function across multiple group businesses, blending operational finance oversight with financial controller duties.

You will own management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and reporting, drive profitability through P&L analysis and commercial insight, manage cash flow and controls, and partner with senior leaders to support the group’s growth plans. Salary £90,000–£115,000 + bonus.

Qualifications

• Oversee finance operations and financial control activities.
• Management reporting, budgeting and forecasting expertise.
• Experience reviewing financial performance and presenting clear financial information.
• Knowledge of effective financial controls and finance processes.
• Ability to work across operational and finance teams on practical financial matters.
• Confidence identifying process improvements within an Accounting & Finance function.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the finance function across multiple group businesses.
• Own management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
• Drive profitability through P&L analysis and commercial insight.
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial forecasting.
• Improve credit control, debtor management and cash collection.
• Strengthen financial controls, systems and reporting processes.
• Partner with senior leaders to enhance business performance.
• Ensure compliance, risk management and reporting accuracy.
• Build a commercially focused, high-performing finance team.
• Support the CEO and CFO in delivering the group's growth plans.
