Castlefield Recruitment is currently partnered with a London authority looking to recruit a Head of Finance to oversee the Homes & Communities team. The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role within local government.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership & Team Management: Lead and manage the Homes & Communities Finance Teams, providing strategic financial direction and support to various Council services.
• Support Transformation & Projects: Contribute financially to transformation programs and projects, ensuring timely and accurate financial information for decision-making.
• Budgetary Accountability & Compliance: Support senior management and budget holders in financial responsibilities, ensuring compliance with policies.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Provide financial leadership to develop robust financial plans aligned with the Council’s medium-term forecasts.
• High-Quality Financial Advice: Offer timely financial advice to directors and managers, promoting a self-service budget management culture.
• Financial Modelling & Forecasting: Lead demand-led budget modelling and forecasting, supporting data-driven decisions.
• Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Support statutory accounting and audit processes, preparing for legislative changes.
• Internal Collaboration & Development: Collaborate across the Finance Directorate to produce strategic outputs and train staff.
• External Engagement & Representation: Maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups and government bodies.
