Head Of Finance/Accounts

My client is seeking a strategic and results-driven Head of Finance/Accounts to lead our finance and accounting operations. This senior-level role requires a proven leader with a strong foundation in financial management, regulatory compliance, and strategic planning. You will oversee the entire accounts department, ensuring robust financial health, accurate reporting, and seamless integration of financial strategies into business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide strategic leadership and direction to the accounting department, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  2. Monitor and maintain internal control systems to safeguard organization assets, including investments, and ensure accuracy in financial data.
  3. Oversee and manage the full spectrum of accounting functions, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and financial reporting.
  4. Lead the preparation and analysis of financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations.
  5. Manage corporate tax strategy, filings, and regulatory compliance while minimizing tax liabilities.
  6. Direct and oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to support strategic decision-making.
  7. Conduct high-level accounts and bank reconciliations, resolving complex discrepancies and ensuring audit readiness.
  8. Oversee the implementation and optimization of accounting systems and financial tools (e.g., Sage, MS Office Suite).
  9. Ensure timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, reports, and disclosures in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  10. Liaise with external auditors, regulatory bodies, and stakeholders to ensure transparency and integrity in financial operations.
  11. Mentor and develop a high-performing accounting team, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Experience & Qualifications:

  1. Proven experience in finance or accounting leadership roles, with a minimum of 7 years of progressive experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or leadership role.
  2. Recognized accounting qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) strongly preferred.
  3. Proficient in accounting software - Sage (preferably Sage 200) - and advanced Excel/financial modelling skills.
  4. In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, standards, tax regulations, and compliance.
  5. Exceptional analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  6. Strong leadership and team management skills, with a focus on performance and development.
  7. Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  8. High attention to detail and a proactive, hands-on leadership approach.

Language abilities:

  • Fluency in written and verbal English.
  • Fluency in written and verbal Hindi is essential, as the role involves regular contact with the company's office in Delhi, India.
