The National Army Museum seeks a Facilities Manager to oversee all facilities management functions, ensuring the estate is suitable for purpose. The role requires strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to both planned and unplanned challenges. The successful candidate will collaborate with various departments to uphold the museum's mission and values.
The National Army Museum’s mission is to tell the story of Our Army and the people who have served in it; to inspire, engage, and educate through our World Class Museum and Collections. Through our galleries, innovative exhibitions, and public programs, visitors can explore what it’s like to be a soldier, understand why we fought in conflicts—past and present—and discover the impact the Army has had on society.
The post-holder will be responsible for managing both hard and soft facilities management functions across the Museum estate. Working as a key member of the facilities team, they will collaborate with all departments to ensure the Museum’s mission, vision, and values are cohesively delivered while maintaining the estate’s suitability for purpose. The post-holder will have delegated authority over health & safety, security, and sustainability aspects of the Museum’s operations.
This role is varied, demanding, and hands-on. We seek a highly organized, enthusiastic, and methodical facilities professional with a technical bias. A proactive, approachable attitude, and the ability to structure and self-manage workload are essential. The successful candidate will confidently handle pre-planned tasks and respond efficiently to unplanned facilities challenges.
