Job summary

KERB Food Ltd is seeking a Head of Events to oversee the Midlands venues (NEC Birmingham, Aston Villa, Birmingham City). This senior role focuses on portfolio oversight, client relationships, and growth, with responsibility for site P&Ls and strategic revenue initiatives.

You will lead regional teams, drive new business, and ensure exceptional hospitality and event delivery across venues, while expanding KERB’s regional presence.

Qualifications

  • Senior-level operations or business development experience in hospitality, events, or food & beverage.
  • Experience managing budgets and driving revenue growth across multiple sites or accounts.
  • Strong relationship-building, strategic thinking, and leadership capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Midlands portfolio as senior representative across venues, clients, and partners.
  • Own site P&Ls, budgets, and commercial performance to meet revenue targets.
  • Build and maintain client and venue relationships to drive growth and retention.
  • Develop Operations Managers to deliver exceptional events and hospitality experiences.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Commercial and Operations teams to maximise revenue and improve performance.
  • Ensure operational excellence, compliance, and consistent standards across sites.
  • Drive continuous improvement in event delivery and trader experience.
  • Lead, coach, and inspire regional teams with a high-performance culture.
  • Set and monitor KPIs and report regional performance to support strategic objectives.

Description

As KERB continues to expand its Midlands portfolio, we are seeking a Head of Events to oversee our flagship venues – NEC Birmingham, Aston Villa & Birmingham City. This is a senior, strategic role, focusing on portfolio oversight, client relationship management, and business growth. You will work closely with Venue Operations Managers and Coordinators to ensure exceptional delivery across all events, while also identifying new opportunities to expand KERB’s presence in the region.

You will act as the key point of contact for venue partners and corporate clients, ensuring their needs are met and relationships are strengthened. You’ll also drive revenue growth through new business development, partnership expansion, and innovative hospitality solutions.

This is a high-impact role for an experienced leader with a strong commercial mindset, excellent stakeholder management skills, and a passion for the food and hospitality industry.

What you'll be doing

What you'll bring to KERB
  • Proven experience in a senior operations, account management, or business development role within hospitality, events, or food & drink.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets and delivering revenue growth.A track record of successfully managing multiple sites, venues, or client accounts.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence and engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • A strategic and solutions-focused mindset, with strong decision-making abilities.
  • Proven leadership experience, with a passion for developing and motivating high-performing teams.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • A hands-on understanding of event operations and food & beverage environments.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly across the Midlands and support events as required.

Desired but not essential

  • Experience working with independent food traders, street food markets, or similar concepts.
  • Knowledge of stadia, exhibitions, or large-scale live event operations.
  • Familiarity with EPOS systems, particularly Good Till.
