Job summary

Network IT is seeking a Head of Estates to set the strategic direction for Security and Estates, advising the Chief Executive on security decisions across Estates, H&S, Fire and Security.

The role requires leading estates operations, managing health and safety compliance, and coordinating with DIO contracts and external providers for FM services.

The position is hybrid with a six-month initial term and SC clearance mandatory for the role.

Responsibilities

• Supports governance at the highest level, providing assurance on Security, Facilities Management, Health & Safety and Fire processes.
• Leads Estates, including hard and soft FM services via DIO contracts and direct contractors.
• Line manages Security, Estates, H&S and Fire Safety teams.
• Plans site strategy and facilities to meet current and future organisational needs.
• Acts as lead customer for all hard and soft FM services delivered by a 3rd party provider.
• Oversees mandatory security, health, safety and fire compliance.
• Advises Director of Finance & Corporate Services and ELT on FM, safety and fire matters.

This is a demanding and high profile role setting the strategic direction for Security and Estates Management, advising the Chief Executive to help make effective security decisions across Estates, H&S, Fire and Security

The role will involve

• The role supports the organisations governance at the highest level, providing assurance on the implementation and effectiveness of Security, Facilities Management, Health & Safety and Fire processes in line with legal, Government and Departmental requirements.
• Leading Estates, including the delivery of hard and soft FM services through DIO contracts and directly appointed contractors.
• Line management of Security, Estates, H&S and Fire Safety teams
• Strategic planning for the organisations site and facilities, setting out the site strategy and ensuring that the site is able to meet the current and future needs of the organisations
• Acting as the lead customer for all aspects of hard and soft FM services as delivered through a 3rd party provider
• Strategic oversight of the implementation of mandatory requirements relating to physical and personnel security
• Advising Director of Finance & Corporate Services and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) on all matters relating to security
• Assurance to the CEO/Board by ensuring compliance with all Health Safety and Fire requirements
• Responsible for all Estates and Security related risks.
• Management of Health and Safety in Defence.
• Lead on the development of the site strategy andthe associated programme of improvement works to be delivered through DIO.
• Provide advice to the Directorof Finance & Corporate Services and ELT on all matters relating to FM and health & safety and fire.
• Oversee the implementation of mandatory requirements relating to physical and personnel security as set
• Oversee and management of the Health & Safety and Fire Advisor (HS&F Advisor) to ensure theimplementation of mandatory requirements relating to health & safety and fire as required by the various acts and regulations.
• Ensure that security, site, health & safety and fire processes are reviewed regularly to ensure that they are efficient, effective and take advantage of new technology and digital ways of working and that measures to mitigate impact and likelihood are effective and proportionate to the level of risk
