Job summary

Ringway is seeking a Head of Environment to lead its environmental and sustainability agenda across a diverse highways maintenance portfolio. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to shape performance, support major bids and drive continuous improvement, with a clear pathway toward Net Zero 2050.

The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on guidance for contracts nationwide and will require regular UK travel to engage with operational teams and contract leaders.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading environmental and sustainability initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of environmental legislation, compliance and reporting.
• Experience with ISO 14001, ISO 50001 and PAS 2080.
• The ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of an organisation.
• Experience developing and implementing environmental strategies.
• Strong analytical, reporting and problem-solving skills.
• A degree in Environmental, Sustainability, Engineering or a related discipline.
• The flexibility and willingness to travel regularly across the UK.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Ringway's environmental and sustainability strategy.
• Support the business in achieving environmental objectives and Net Zero ambitions.
• Ensure compliance with environmental legislation, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Provide strategic environmental guidance to senior leaders and operational teams.
• Lead environmental aspects of major bids, tenders and National Highways contract rebids.
• Drive PAS 2080 implementation and accreditation activities.
• Analyse environmental performance data and develop improvement plans.
• Share best practice across contracts and business units.
• Develop meaningful environmental KPIs and performance reporting.
• Collaborate with VINCI environmental teams and wider business stakeholders.
• Promote a positive environmental culture through engagement, coaching and knowledge sharing.
