Job summary

Moniepoint Inc. in the United Kingdom is seeking a Head of Engineering, Payment Gateway to lead the technical direction of Monnify, our online payments platform, ensuring scalability, security and developer experience.

You will guide multiple engineering teams through managers, shape architecture for cross-border, multi-currency workflows, and ensure reliable, compliant operations within a regulated environment. This is a senior, strategic role in a fast-growing fintech.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of software engineering experience, with at least 5 years in leadership.
• 5+ years hands-on production Java experience.
• Experience managing managers and scaling engineering organisations.
• Experience in payments/fintech with knowledge of payment flows and compliance.
• Strong backend and distributed systems knowledge.
• Experience with API-first products and developer platforms.

Responsibilities

• Own the full technical strategy, architecture and roadmap for the Monnify platform across all capability areas.
• Lead engineering managers, setting quality standards and building organisational capability.
• Own the developer experience end-to-end, including APIs, documentation, SDKs and integration ease.
• Drive platform evolution towards multi-currency and international scalability.
• Ensure platform reliability, scalability and security within a regulated environment.
• Partner with product, commercial and operations teams to align technical investments with business goals.
• Hire, mentor and develop engineering managers and senior engineers to support growth.
