Job summary

AG Barr is seeking a Head of Engineering at their Cumbernauld site to lead engineering strategy, drive high-speed manufacturing performance and pioneer continuous improvement across production operations.

Reporting to the Site Director and as a key member of the Site Leadership Team, you will optimise line efficiencies, maintenance planning and capital projects, while championing safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced FMCG environment.

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering management experience in a complex FMCG or Food & Beverage facility.
• Deep technical knowledge of high-speed packaging equipment, production techniques and QSE standards.
• Proven track record with PPM systems, asset reliability, and multi-million-pound capital projects.
• Strong leadership and coaching with change management experience.
• NEBOSH qualification and understanding of contractor management.

Responsibilities

• Strategic and financial leadership for the site engineering budget.
• Drive maintenance scheduling, asset reliability, and external contractor management.
• Deliver capex proposals, procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Embed continuous improvement with Production to maximise line efficiencies.
• Champion safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
