Job summary

AG Barr is seeking a Head of Engineering to lead site engineering strategy, drive high‑speed manufacturing performance and champion continuous improvement across production operations.

Reporting to the Site Director, you will optimise maintenance, manage multi‑million pound capital projects and build a high‑performing, safety‑driven engineering team in a fast‑paced FMCG environment. You will lead budgeting, asset reliability and contractor management with a strong culture of safety and quality.

Qualifications

• Extensive engineering management experience in FMCG or food/bev production.
• Deep technical knowledge of high-speed packaging, production techniques, and QSE standards.
• Proven track record in developing and executing PPM systems and asset reliability strategies.
• Strong leadership with a track record of driving cultural change in teams.
• NEBOSH qualification and contractor management experience.

Responsibilities

• Strategic and financial leadership of the engineering budget and resources.
• Drive plant uptime and asset reliability via PPM scheduling and planning.
• Formulate capex proposals and manage procurement, installation and commissioning.
• Collaborate with Production to embed CI and improve line efficiencies.
• Champion safety, quality and compliance across site operations.
• Oversee site services, utilities, contractor relationships and training.
• Lead and develop the site engineering team and embedded engineers.
