Job Title: Head of Engineering

Salary: To £95,000 plus excellent package

Location: Walsall, West Midlands UK

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Join Echo Managed Services as Head of Engineering to lead and inspire a global team of over 60 engineers across the UK and India. This role involves shaping the technical vision, driving innovation with AI-powered solutions, and designing scalable and secure Salesforce-based architectures. The Role:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Leadership & Strategy: Define and implement the technical vision, ensuring alignment with business objectives and industry trends.
2. Architecture & Scalability: Design and oversee scalable, secure, and high-performing architectures for Salesforce-based solutions.
3. Engineering Leadership: Build and lead a high-performing engineering team of 60+ across UK and India, fostering a culture of excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
4. Product & Technical Roadmap: Manage delivery in line with SDLC and Agile processes.
5. Modern Engineering Practices: Champion Agile, CI/CD, automated testing, and DevSecOps.
6. Financial Management: Manage budgets for tools and personnel.
7. AI & Emerging Technologies: Drive adoption of AI, automation, and emerging tech within our products.
8. Collaboration & Communication: Work with product management, customer service, and leadership to translate business needs into technical solutions.
9. Governance & Compliance: Ensure adherence to security, regulatory, and quality standards.
10. External Partnerships: Recommend external partners for delivering best-in-class technologies.

What You’ll Need:

Experience: Managing international software development and testing teams, ideally within a Salesforce environment. Strong knowledge of SaaS architectures, API design, and cloud technologies. Proven leadership in scaling engineering teams in agile environments. Experience in process improvement and monitoring software development activities. Excellent stakeholder management skills.

Skills: Salesforce development and ecosystem, Prince2, PMBoK or AgilePM qualifications, ScrumMaster or Product Owner experience, Agile DSDM or Scrum exposure.
