Job description

Salary: £65,000 - 105,000 per year

Requirements

• Experience leading software engineering teams of 15-40+ people
• Experience managing senior engineers, Technical Leads and/or Engineering Managers
• Experience improving engineering delivery, quality and predictability
• Experience using engineering metrics to drive performance and accountability
• Experience modernising engineering practices through tooling, automation and AI
• Experience partnering closely with Product and senior stakeholders
• Experience in SaaS, platform, fintech, regtech or other complex technology environments
• Technical credibility to challenge decisions, support technical leaders and influence engineering direction; this is not a hands-on coding role
• Familiarity with cloud-based environments, including Azure, APIs, CI/CD, automated testing and modern software engineering practices

This newly created leadership role will help take a mature engineering function of around 20 engineers to the next level, bringing structure, accountability and modern practices to a talented team. The business has ambitious growth plans and significant investment in engineering, tooling and AI. The role offers strong executive exposure and the opportunity to influence strategy and shape the future engineering organisation.
