Job summary

A growing SaaS startup in the UK is looking for a Head of Engineering to manage a small team while also engaging in hands-on coding. You will directly report to the CEO, and your role will involve a mix of coding and management, starting at 50% coding. The ideal candidate should have startup experience and strong full stack Typescript skills. A background in Adtech or Martech, as well as data and machine learning experience, will be advantageous. This is a full-time position with a competitive salary range of £100k to £150k.

Qualifications

• Experience in an early stage startup, ideally as a founder or in an early engineering role.
• Strong proficiency in Typescript, particularly backend development.
• Several years of experience managing a team.

Base pay range

Role: Head of Engineering (hands on)

Salary range: 100-150k

We're working with a SaaS startup company that helps brands actually see what’s working when they partner with creators. They mix playful audience feedback with campaign data to show how people really respond — giving teams the clarity they need to make smarter decisions next time.

Reporting into the CEO directly, combination of hands on coding alongside managing the team, 50% hands on coding to start, with the view longer term to be flexible on becoming less if you desire.

Essentials for this role:

• Early stage startup experience e.g. founder engineer, ex founder or part of the journey early on.
• Strong full stack Typescript experience - preferably backend lean.
• At least a few years managing a team.

Bonus:
