Head of Software | South West (Hybrid ) |

We’re partnered with a fast-growing UK technology business with a strong reputation in their market and ambitious growth plans, they’re now looking for a Head of Software Engineering to lead their engineering function and shape the future of their platform.

This is a senior leadership role, overseeing a team of engineers and technical leads while setting the strategic direction for engineering excellence. You’ll drive best practices, ensure scalability and security, and work closely with product, design, and delivery teams to bring innovative, high-traffic digital products to life.

What we’re looking for:

• Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and cloud-native architecture
• Experience working with high-traffic platforms, ideally e-commerce or booking systems
• Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, containerisation (Docker/Kubernetes), and AWS/Azure/GCP
• Familiarity with payments, PCI compliance, and search/recommendation tooling
• Proven leadership experience managing senior engineers and technical teams
• Strong advocate for Agile, Lean, and DevOps practices
• Excellent communicator, able to influence across technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Bonus: experience in leisure, travel, or other seasonal product businesses
