Job summary

The Independent Media seeks a Head of Ecommerce to report to the Ecommerce Director and lead core revenue strategies for the company’s ecommerce brands in the UK and US. You will guide affiliate programs, performance partnerships and retail media while coaching a senior team of sales and project managers.

You will align commercial initiatives with editorial integrity, engage with partners, and drive growth across multiple channels, including social, search, and newsletters.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in a senior commercial, performance marketing, or retail media role.
• Experience in direct line management and talent development.
• Hands-on commercial expertise with revenue targets and complex deals.
• Strong negotiation, prioritisation, and executive stakeholder management.
• Adaptable mindset for shifting digital landscape.
• Ability to balance commercial priorities with editorial integrity and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Deputy to the Ecommerce Director with P&L ownership for solutions and partnerships divisions.
• Lead KPIs, budgets, and growth targets for partnerships and revenue.
• Direct line management of sales, partnership and project managers; coach performance.
• Secure bespoke performance packages and long-term partnerships with networks and agencies.
• Drive revenue growth across the UK and US ecommerce brands.
• Represent Ecommerce at conferences and with clients and partners.
• Collaborate with editorial, delivery, audience teams and agencies to execute campaigns.
