Job summary

The Independent is seeking a Senior Partnerships Manager for its Ecommerce business, leading a two-person Partnerships team and driving performance partnerships growth. You will manage a P&L and translate strategic vision into profitable, scalable outcomes across UK/US markets.

You will report into the Head of Ecommerce Solutions & Partnerships and shape cross-functional collaborations with sales, editors, and external agencies. This is a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in affiliate marketing, partnership management, or performance sales.
• Proven ability to own or contribute to a P&L and evaluate revenue models, metrics, and profitability.
• Experience in building, line-managing, and elevating mid-level commercial talent to hit targets.
• Strong network of senior affiliate relationships for business development.
• Fluency in SEO, audience acquisition tactics (paid and organic social, PPC, newsletter), and cross-channel content integration.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Take full accountability for partnership revenue stream and channel P&L.
• Directly manage and mentor two Partnership Managers, setting performance benchmarks.
• Lead end-to-end commercial negotiations, contract drafting, and sign-offs.
• Oversee portfolio ownership across core verticals and identify enterprise opportunities.
• Collaborate with sales, editors, audience growth teams, and external agencies to align output with strategy.
• Provide transparent reporting on portfolio yield, risks, and ROI to senior stakeholders.
