Job summary

Kensington and Chelsea Council seeks an Assistant Director to lead the modernisation of our digital platforms and applications. You will unify technology teams, set standards, and champion product-led delivery across services.

You will oversee budgets, govern risk, and deputise for the CIO, shaping priorities with senior stakeholders and ensuring secure, reliable cloud-based solutions for residents.

Qualifications

• Experience leading enterprise architecture and ICT governance.
• Experience modernising legacy systems and cloud-based SaaS delivery.
• Strong financial management and budget oversight.
• Experience in local government or public sector environments.
• Ability to translate complex technical issues for senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to modernise Platforms and Applications function.
• Set standards, oversee lifecycle management, and champion a product-led approach.
• Oversee budgets, staff development, and supplier relationships.
• Deputise for the Chief Information Officer when required.
• Collaborate with senior officers, elected members, and ICT colleagues.
