Job summary

Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC) invites applications for an Assistant Director of Business Applications and Platforms to lead a unified service, modernise core systems, and drive cloud-based migrations. This senior role shapes strategy, governance and delivery across a council-wide technology estate.

You will manage resources, budgets and staff development while advising executive directors and elected members. Three days a week you’ll be based in the borough with a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Must have a relevant professional qualification or substantial experience in enterprise architecture, ICT governance, service management or cyber security (ITIL/TOGAF preferred).
• Proven ability to lead application-management or product-focused teams.
• Experience modernising legacy systems and delivering cloud-based SaaS platforms.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership to modernise the Platforms and Applications function and standardise practices.
• monitor performance, security and risk posture of core applications and unblock delivery or resolve supplier issues.
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to set priorities and rationalise legacy systems.
• deputise for the CIO and participate in ICT governance and emergency leadership rotation.
