Liverpool City Council is seeking a Head of Development Management to lead Strategic Projects and Major Planning Applications in Liverpool. The role offers breadth, responsibility and influence across planning policy, development management and delivery of major schemes.

You will drive delivery from submission through negotiation to implementation, lead a specialist team, and work with partners to deliver growth while ensuring high-quality, well-planned developments for the city.

Responsabilités

• Work across boundaries within the planning profession in development management, policy design and implementation
• Coordinate and manage strategic projects and major applications from submission through negotiation, determination and implementation
• Collaborate with City Development directorate and other council services to deliver strategically important projects
• Lead Strategic Projects and Major applications teams and engage with senior stakeholders
• Lead meetings with strategic developers to secure high-quality development aligned with growth ambitions
• Assess enquiries to identify potential strategic and complex planning applications
• Work with partners including the Combined Authority and Homes England to meet council and partner objectives
• Manage Planning Committee involvement and editorial responsibility for reports
• Ensure Strategic Projects and Major applications contribute to the Local Plan with sound evidence
