Job summary

Boeing Defence United Kingdom Limited seeks a Design Lead to act as the primary technical and functional lead for the Design and Support Engineering team. You will drive design decisions, mentor engineers, and coordinate across systems, structures, manufacturing, test, and suppliers to deliver robust designs across the product lifecycle.

The role requires deep design knowledge, strong leadership, and the ability to maintain engineering standards while delivering to programme goals.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for UK security clearance is required.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering with a focus on mechanical, civil, aerospace, or materials.
• Experience in tooling design, manufacturing, and materials knowledge.
• SOW/BOE preparation and supplier performance oversight.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a multi-discipline design team and allocate work.
• Own design decisions and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
• Drive robust design standards, verification/validation strategies, and cost-conscious improvements.
• Represent design in programme governance and deliver technical sections for bids.
