Job summary

VolkerWessels UK Ltd. is seeking an experienced Head of Data & Analytics to define and execute a data strategy that drives business performance and decision-making. You will lead a high-performing team, establish governance and modern cloud platforms, and own the Power BI and analytics stack.

You will collaborate with senior leaders to deliver enterprise-scale data solutions, while advancing our data governance, quality and AI ambitions across the organisation.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading Data & Analytics functions and developing high-performing teams.
• Expert-level knowledge of Power BI, DAX, Power Query, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, SQL and ETL/data pipeline technologies.
• Strong experience in data governance, data quality and Master Data Management (MDM).
• A track record of delivering enterprise-scale data and analytics solutions.
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and engage both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Degree-level qualification in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of VolkerWessels UK's Data & Analytics strategy, ensuring data becomes a key driver of business performance and decision-making.
• Build, develop and inspire a high-performing Data & Analytics team, creating a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Design and implement robust data governance and Master Data Management frameworks, ensuring data quality, integrity and compliance.
• Architect and deliver modern cloud-based data platforms using Microsoft Fabric, Databricks and Power BI.
• Take ownership of the Power BI and cloud data platform environments, ensuring they are secure, scalable and fit for purpose.
• Develop impactful dashboards, reports and analytics solutions that provide actionable insight to senior leaders across the business.
• Act as the senior technical authority, providing hands-on expertise across data modelling, DAX, ETL pipelines, SQL and analytics architecture.
• Collaborate with stakeholders at all levels to understand business challenges and deliver data solutions that create measurable value.
• Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies, trends and opportunities that strengthen our data capabilities and competitive advantage.

You'll bring:
