Job summary

The Coleshill School invites applications for a dynamic Head of Creative Arts and Technology to lead and develop our Creative Arts and Technology provision. You will shape curriculum, raise achievement and inspire students to build creativity, practical skills and confidence.

The successful candidate will have DT teaching qualifications and evidence of leadership or readiness for significant leadership. A competitive salary with TLR1B is included, along with extensive CPD and a supportive school

Qualifications

• Qualified teacher of Design and Technology (DT) with strong subject knowledge.
• Experience delivering high-quality DT teaching across secondary for diverse ability ranges.
• Experience leading or supporting curriculum development or readiness for senior leadership role.
• High expectations of students and commitment to raising achievement.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the Creative Arts and Technology department with clear direction and high expectations.
• Ensure delivery of a broad, engaging curriculum across Creative Arts and Technology.
• Plan and deliver high-quality DT lessons that challenge and inspire students.
• Monitor and evaluate teaching, learning and student progress across the department.
• Use assessment data to identify development needs and improve outcomes.
• Support and develop colleagues through collaboration and CPD.
• Promote high standards of behaviour, achievement and engagement across the department.
• Contribute to curriculum development and strategic planning within the school.

The Coleshill School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, dedicated and highly effective Head of Creative Arts and Technology to join our supportive and ambitious team. This is an exciting opportunity for a DT-qualified teacher to lead and develop our Creative Arts and Technology provision, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning across the department. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the curriculum, raising achievement and inspiring students to develop their creativity, practical skills and confidence.,

• Leading and developing the Creative Arts and Technology department, providing clear direction and high expectations.
• Ensuring the delivery of a broad, engaging and ambitious curriculum across Creative Arts and Technology.
• Planning and delivering high-quality DT lessons that engage, challenge and inspire students.
• Monitoring and evaluating teaching, learning and student progress across the department.
• Using assessment information effectively to identify areas for development and improve student outcomes.
• Supporting, developing and motivating colleagues through collaboration, sharing good practice and contributing to departmental CPD.
• Promoting high standards of behaviour, achievement and engagement across the department.
• Managing departmental resources effectively and contributing to curriculum development and strategic planning.
• Contributing to the wider life of the school and supporting our commitment to providing an excellent education for all students.
  Be a qualified teacher of Design and Technology (DT) with a strong subject knowledge and passion for the subject.
• Experience of delivering high-quality DT teaching across the secondary age and ability range.
• Experience of leading or supporting the development of a curriculum area or department or is ready to take the next step into a significant leadership role.
• Have high expectations of all students and is committed to raising achievement.
• The ability to inspire, motivate and develop both students and colleagues.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Can use assessment and other relevant data effectively to monitor progress and inform departmental improvement.
