The Role

A highly motivated and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher is required for a full-time position starting in September. This third-person role involves delivering high-quality, engaging lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The successful educator will be responsible for inspiring pupils across multiple disciplines, specifically focusing on Product Design (PD), Resistant Materials (RM), and Textiles. Key Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Holds QTS, QTLS, or an equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge across Product Design, Resistant Materials, and Textiles.

• High levels of emotional intelligence, empathy, and adaptability to support an inclusive student community.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret student data and implement targeted learning interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, differentiated DT lessons encompassing Product Design, Resistant Materials, and Textiles.
• Maintain a safe, productive, and highly organised workshop environment in strict accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Assess, record, and report on the development, progress, and attainment of students to maximise academic outcomes.
• Implement the academy's structured behaviour policies consistently to maintain a positive and focused climate for learning.
• Foster a culture of mutual respect, kindness, and high expectations among all students in the classroom.
• Support the school's extensive enrichment programme by leading or assisting with practical, skills-based extracurricular activities.
• Actively participate in the school's daily morning Personal Development and Growth sessions.
• Collaborate with the department and the wider trust to share best practices, resources, and innovative teaching strategies.
