Job summary

The Opportunity Hub UK Ltd in Cardiff is seeking a Head of Corporate Communications to lead our PR and communications strategy as we scale. You will shape messaging across press, internal comms and stakeholder relations, and work closely with leadership.

In a fast-growing startup, you'll write for journalists, build press relationships in and around Cardiff, manage communications during funding rounds and product launches, and mentor senior leaders ahead of media engagements.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in PR & Communications, ideally with some exposure to a startup or fast-growing business
• Strong writing skills. You need to make a technical or complex story readable
• Confidence dealing with journalists, investors and internal teams in the same week
• Comfortable working without a big team behind you. You'll wear more than one hat here
• Good judgement under pressure, particularly when a story moves faster than planned
• Some grounding in media relations tools and basic analytics to measure what's working

Responsibilities

• Shape and deliver the corporate communications strategy across press, internal messaging and stakeholder relations
• Write and place stories with journalists and trade media covering the sector
• Build relationships with key press contacts and industry commentators in and around Cardiff
• Manage messaging during periods of change, from funding announcements to product launches
• Brief senior leaders ahead of interviews, panels and public appearances
• Track coverage and sentiment, then adjust the approach when something isn't landing
