This role is ideally based in Paris, Madrid, or London, with other locations considered. We operate a hybrid schedule, allowing two remote days per week.

Role Purpose:

Reporting to the International Head of Energy & Construction, you will drive the expansion and strategic development of our Construction portfolio internationally, focusing on underwriting profit and delivery.

Core Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the strategic growth of the EII Construction Portfolio, developing underwriting guidelines and identifying regional opportunities.
  2. Foster collaboration between Everest Insurance International and North American Construction portfolios.
  3. Work with Risk Engineering to develop risk assessment criteria.
  4. Collaborate with Actuarial to develop pricing tools and monitor portfolio performance.
  5. Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients.
  6. Coordinate activities with Claims, Loss Control, and Accounting departments.
  7. Identify and implement process improvements.
  8. Assist with E&C Reinsurance Treaty structuring and execution alongside the Head of Energy and Construction and Ceded Re.
Skills & Abilities:

You should have:

  1. Senior global underwriting experience in industrial and civil infrastructure construction projects.
  2. Technical expertise in EAR and CAR.
  3. Knowledge of related construction classes such as Project Cargo, Liability, PI, and Surety.
  4. Experience navigating complex, matrixed organizations.
  5. Proven relationship management with brokers, clients, and stakeholders.
  6. Leadership in change management and fostering high-performing teams.
  7. Risk-taking and negotiation skills.
  8. Strategic analysis and big-picture thinking.
  9. Sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.
  10. Compliance with internal and external regulations.
