Job summary

LR Legal Recruitment is recruiting for a Head of Conflicts in London (EC2N) with hybrid working. This senior role leads a global conflicts framework, improves processes and supports a best-in-class risk function within an international law firm.

You will report to the Risk & Compliance Partner, drive a major programme of change, and manage a team of conflicts analysts across regions while advising senior stakeholders on conflicts and confidentiality matters.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in conflicts, risk or equivalent role within a law firm.
• Proven people management and team-building experience.
• Strong project management skills with experience delivering process improvements.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder management abilities.
• Hands-on experience with conflicts technology, particularly the IntApp suite.

Responsibilities

• Lead a large-scale review and enhancement of the firm’s conflicts processes, including gap analysis and improvements.
• Manage complex conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues from client matters, lateral hires and business activity.
• Advise partners and senior stakeholders on conflicts, confidentiality and professional obligations.
• Draft waivers, consent language and updates to conflicts-related provisions within the firm’s terms of business.
• Develop and maintain conflicts policies, procedures and guidance.
• Deliver training to partners and staff globally on conflicts and confidentiality matters.
• Provide regular reporting and insights to management, committees and senior stakeholders.
• Build and lead a team of conflicts analysts, supporting their development and performance.

Head of Conflicts | London (EC2N) | up to £130k with hybrid working

A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Head of Conflicts to join its Risk & Compliance function. This is a senior leadership opportunity for a conflicts specialist to take ownership of the firm’s conflicts framework, drive operational improvements and support the delivery of a best-in-class risk function.

Reporting to the Risk & Compliance Partner, the successful candidate will lead a significant programme of change, enhancing conflicts processes and procedures across the firm’s global operations, including the implementation of improvements linked to conflicts technology and systems.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading a large-scale review and enhancement of the firm’s conflicts processes, including conducting gap analysis and implementing improvements.
• Managing complex conflicts of interest and confidentiality issues arising from client matters, lateral hires and business activity.
• Advising partners and senior stakeholders on conflicts, confidentiality and professional obligations.
• Drafting waivers, consent language and updates to conflicts-related provisions within the firm’s terms of business.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified lawyer or an experienced conflicts professional with substantial experience gained within an international law firm environment. You will have a strong understanding of professional conduct requirements, conflicts management and risk assessment, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
