About the Company

MERJE is seeking a highly experienced Head of Compliance for a leading insurance broker. This pivotal role will oversee compliance across the commercial broking arm of Retail Broking activities, ensuring adherence to industry regulations while maintaining business efficiency. £100,000 - £110,000 Location: London / Birmingham / Bristol. Hybrid and very flexible working arrangements.

The Role

As Head of Compliance, you'll lead compliance oversight, provide advisory support, and manage regulatory requirements for the firms activities across UK & Ireland. This role offers an opportunity to shape compliance strategies at the highest level.

Key Responsibilities of the Head of Compliance:

• Ensure compliance systems and controls remain appropriate, collaborating with senior operational management
• Manage and oversee the Compliance Team
• Deliver on components of the overall UK & Ireland compliance plan
• Provide timely advice on regulatory changes and their impact
• Generate insightful management information for the Chief Compliance Officer and Senior Management, including CEO

Qualifications

Required knowledge and experience for the role:

• Strong knowledge of FCA requirements, specifically relating to insurance within ICOBs
• Minimum 5 years' experience at senior compliance management level or above
• Demonstrable experience in setting compliance policies, standards, and oversight planning
• Proven ability to work effectively with Board level management
• Industry recognised qualifications desirable (but not essential with relevant experience)
