About The Team
The Integrated Communications team is responsible for helping to drive and shape positive sentiment and develop community regarding the World protocol. Tasked with creating and managing World's Integrated Communications efforts (earned and owned), the team oversees everything from community management to earned media and content creation.
About The Role
As the Head of Communications for Europe, you will lead the development and execution of communication strategies tailored to the diverse markets and stakeholders across Europe including but not limited to: the DACH region, Poland, Austria, Portugal, Spain, the UK, Central/Eastern Europe.
You will be responsible for enhancing the organization's reputation, driving engagement, and promoting its mission and initiatives within the region via earned media while helping inform owned content strategies. This position requires a strategic thinker with a strong work ethic, commitment to results, extensive experience in integrated communications, a deep understanding of regional dynamics, and the ability to thrive in a dynamic (and sometimes ambiguous!) cross-functional environment to achieve communication objectives effectively.
What You'll Do
- Establish Foundation for Integrated Communications throughout Europe:
- Build and engage with the network of agencies that will support the TFH comms team mission - drive country-specific, localized positive sentiment at scale.
- Prepare and apply global launch playbook for country launches and expansions.
- Develop and execute communications campaigns that support broader policy communications and regulatory agenda.
- Strategic Communication:
- Develop and implement integrated, localized communication strategies that support the organization's goals and are reflective of unique cultural, social, and political landscapes.
- Align messaging with global objectives while ensuring relevance and resonance with local audiences.
- Deliver strategic communications components spanning but not limited to product releases, new market openings, thought leadership, and brand building initiatives.
- Flawless Execution:
- Execute strategic communications components effectively, including product launches, market expansions, crisis management, and brand initiatives.
- Stakeholder Engagement and Thought Leadership:
- Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including government officials, media, industry influencers, partners, and community members, to foster collaboration and support organizational goals.
- Amplify World’s leadership in privacy, decentralization, and innovation through earned-first campaigns and narratives.
- Lead storytelling efforts with local agencies to highlight the impact of World’s initiatives and products.
- Media Relations:
- Manage media relations activities, including outreach, press releases, briefings, spokesperson training, to secure positive coverage and manage reputation.
- Enhance understanding of World’s mission and technology through media programs resulting in high-impact coverage.
- Content Creation:
- Develop compelling content for press releases, articles, blogs, social media, events, and marketing, aligned with regional priorities and sensitivities.
- Partner with teams to support social media strategies that promote positive sentiment.
- Crisis Communication:
- Serve as the primary contact during crises, mitigating risks and ensuring transparent communication.
- Coordinate crisis strategies with local agencies and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
- Agency and Brand Management:
- Protect and enhance brand reputation across Europe through strategic initiatives and local agency management.
- Source, onboard, and monitor external agencies, tracking KPIs and performance for high-ROI partnerships.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with marketing, PR, government, product, engineering, and regional leadership to align efforts and support business objectives.
- Advocate for regional communication needs within global teams.
About You
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, International Relations, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- 15+ years experience in communications, especially in Europe, within multinational organizations, NGOs, or global companies.
- Deep knowledge of regional dynamics, media landscapes, and cultural nuances across Europe.
- Proven success in developing and executing engagement-driving communication strategies.
- Exceptional media relations skills and experience working with journalists, outlets, and influencers.
- Strategic thinker with strong communication skills and digital platform proficiency.
- Fluent in English; additional regional languages are a plus.
- Experience with Web3/Crypto, data/privacy, and financial regulations is advantageous.
- Residency or native status in Europe required.
- Experience managing local PR agencies and travel readiness for events.
