Job summary

Service Care is seeking a Lead Cloud Engineer to own and evolve the cloud platform underpinning its digital-first mental health services. This hands-on leadership role requires defining cloud strategy, mentoring engineers, and ensuring secure, compliant operations within a healthcare context.

You will collaborate with product, clinical, governance and engineering teams to deliver reliable services for patients and clinicians, maintaining documentation and architecture records.

Qualifications

• Significant cloud engineering and DevOps experience, including senior/lead roles.
• Hands-on expertise in at least one major cloud platform (AWS or Azure; GCP also considered).
• Deep knowledge of Infrastructure as Code and configuration management.
• Proven CI/CD experience with modern tools (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps or Jenkins).
• Strong containers and orchestration knowledge (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Solid cloud security, networking and IAM understanding; observability tooling experience.
• Experience leading engineers and mentoring teams; strong communication skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Define and lead cloud architecture strategy for scalable, secure platforms.
• Design, build and maintain cloud infrastructure using IaC (Terraform/Bicep/CloudFormation).
• Lead and develop a team of cloud/DevOps engineers and set quality standards.
• Own CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation for fast, safe releases.
• Implement monitoring, alerting and incident response; drive RCA and improvements.
• Champion security by design across identity, access, and data protection.
