We are looking for an ambitious and commercially focused Business Development Manager to drive growth across supported living, complex care and specialist accommodation services.
This is a key role within the organisation, responsible for identifying and securing new business opportunities, developing strong relationships with commissioners and strategic partners, and supporting opportunities from initial identification through to contract award, mobilisation and ongoing relationship management.
You will work closely with Local Authorities, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs), NHS partners, housing providers, commissioners, case managers and other key stakeholders to generate referrals, develop new opportunities and expand the organisation's market presence.
Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with organisational growth plans.
Identify new supported living, complex care and specialist accommodation opportunities.
Build and manage a strong pipeline of prospective developments, referrals, frameworks and contracts.
Develop trusted relationships with Local Authorities, ICBs, NHS organisations, housing providers and other key stakeholders.
Attend commissioner events, provider forums, conferences and networking opportunities.
Generate and convert referrals into viable placements, working closely with operational teams.
Identify potential supported living properties and accommodation opportunities.
Work with landlords, investors, developers and Registered Providers to progress new opportunities.
Support the mobilisation and development of new schemes.
Identify procurement opportunities and framework applications.
Lead or contribute to bid writing and tender submissions, coordinating with operational, clinical and quality teams.
Develop commissioner-facing proposals, presentations and service information.
Maintain accurate CRM and pipeline records and provide regular reporting on business development activity.
Monitor market trends, commissioning intentions and market intelligence to identify future opportunities.
Produce business cases, growth proposals, forecasts and revenue projections for senior leadership.
Monitor business development KPIs and provide clear updates on progress and performance.
We are looking for someone with a proven background in business development, commissioning, healthcare, supported living or social care , who is confident building relationships and securing new opportunities.
You will ideally have:
At least 3 years' experience within business development, commissioning, healthcare, supported living or social care.
A proven track record of securing new business opportunities.
Experience working with Local Authorities, NHS organisations and/or housing providers.
Experience managing tenders, bids and framework applications.
Strong knowledge of the supported living and complex needs sector.
An understanding of adult social care commissioning processes and housing/accommodation pathways.
Knowledge of CQC and regulatory requirements.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation and influencing skills.
Strong commercial awareness and financial understanding.
The ability to analyse market intelligence and commissioning data.
Excellent report writing, proposal development and organisational skills.
Above all, you'll be self-motivated, results-driven and commercially minded , while sharing a genuine commitment to person-centred care.
You'll be credible and confident when dealing with senior stakeholders, collaborative in your approach and able to identify creative solutions to support sustainable growth.
