Job summary

Hiddenwell – Ardencote Manor is seeking a Head Kitchen Porter to lead and support the Kitchen Porter team, ensuring cleanliness, organisation and safety across shifts. You will work closely with chefs to maintain a well‑run kitchen and deliver exceptional guest experiences.

This full‑time permanent role requires hands‑on leadership, practical guidance, and COSHH compliance, with a 37.5‑hour week and a fixed hourly rate of £12.71.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• Supervisory or team-leader experience is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety practices.
• Knowledge of COSHH and health and safety requirements.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise during busy periods.
• Reliable and hardworking with proactive attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support the Kitchen Porter team across each shift.
• Allocate daily duties and manage workloads.
• Maintain high cleanliness, hygiene and organisation throughout the kitchen.
• Ensure pots, pans, and utensils are cleaned thoroughly and efficiently.
• Keep pot wash and porter areas clean and organised.
• Follow cleaning schedules and monitor standards.
• Coach and train new Kitchen Porters.
• Report hazards or safety concerns promptly.
