Job summary

Ardencote Manor at Hiddenwell Luxury Wellness Retreat is seeking a Head Kitchen Porter to lead the Kitchen Porter team, uphold cleanliness, and support chefs to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

You will manage daily duties, train new porters, and ensure safe, well-organised kitchen operations with COSHH compliance and high hygiene standards. This full-time permanent role offers a 37.5-hour week and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Kitchen Porter or within a busy kitchen environment.
• Supervisory, Team Leader or senior Kitchen Porter experience would be an advantage.
• Confidence organising, supporting and motivating a team.
• Good understanding of kitchen hygiene and safe working practices.
• Knowledge of COSHH and Health & Safety requirements.
• Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritise effectively during busy periods.
• Reliable and hardworking.
• Confidence working independently and using your initiative.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, flexible and hands-on attitude.

Responsibilities

• Lead, organise and support the Kitchen Porter team across shifts.
• Assign daily duties and manage workloads.
• Lead by example during busy periods.
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
• Ensure pots, pans, utensils, and equipment are thoroughly cleaned.
• Keep pot wash and porter areas tidy and organised.
• Follow cleaning schedules and COSHH requirements.
• Provide coaching and training to new Kitchen Porters.
• Report hazards or safety concerns promptly.
