Job summary

Crystal Care Collection Limited is seeking a Head Housekeeper for Parsons Ridge Care Home in Braunton. The role involves leading a small domestic team, maintaining exceptional cleaning standards, and managing laundry and stock in a friendly care home environment.

Working hours are 09:00–16:00, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week) with an hourly rate of £14.05. Benefits include induction training, DBS check, and uniform provision. Sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in housekeeping in a care home or similar setting is desirable.
• Ability to manage a small team and coordinate tasks.

Responsibilities

• Provide a high quality housekeeping service ensuring all areas are cleaned to a high standard.
• Oversee domestic staff and ensure duties are completed to the desired standards.
• Order cleaning stock and maintain correct stock levels.
• Ensure compliance with cleaning guidelines and schedules to meet residents' and home needs.
• Respect confidentiality of residents' personal information and uphold privacy and dignity.
• Follow Health & Safety, COSHH, and Infection Control guidelines.
• Lable and manage residents' clothing/items, returning them correctly after laundry.
• Ensure equipment is safe and report faults promptly.
• Maintain adequate housekeeping supplies and inform management of shortages.
• Be an active team member, participate in meetings and training.

Your role will be based in Parsons Ridge which is well under construction and set to open in January 2027!

As a Head Housekeeper, you will play an integral role within the care home, working as part of a small domestic team. Your role is key to ensuring the home is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard, in line with the cleaning schedules, so our residents live in an exceptional environment. You will become part of the care home family and lets be honest, YOU are what makes our home a great place to live and work!

Key Responsibilities

• -To provide a high quality housekeeping service to ensure all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard and that all linen and resident's personal clothing/items are correctly laundered
• -To oversee all domestic staff and to ensure all duties are completed to the desired standards.
• -You will be responsible for ordering cleaning stock and ensuring stock levels are correct at all times.
• -To ensure that all areas of the Care Home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents' and homes needs.
• -To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• -To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.
• -To check that all residents' personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair and returned to the correct resident in a timely manner after each laundry session.
• -To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident's personal information at all times, including resident's right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• -To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults to both Maintenance and the General Manager.
• -To check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform the manager of any shortages.
• -To always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.
• -To be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meeting, attend training sessions and ensure that The Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

Hours of work: (09:00-16:00) and you will be expected to work Monday to Friday which will be 35 hours per week in total.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.05
