Job summary

Crystal Care Collection Limited in Taunton is seeking a Head Housekeeper for Sherwell Manor to lead a domestic team and maintain exceptionally high cleaning standards across the home, ensuring residents live in a safe and comfortable environment.

The role is 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–16:00, with a hourly rate of £14.05. Induction training, Enhanced DBS, Blue Light Card, uniform, and shift meals are provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality housekeeping across the home.
• Oversee all domestic staff and ensure duties are completed to standard.

• Label and manage residents' clothing and laundry.
• Maintain equipment in safe working order and report faults.

As a Head Housekeeper, you will play an integral role within the care home, working as part of a small domestic team. Your role is key to ensuring the home is cleaned and maintained to a very high standard, in line with the cleaning schedules, so our residents live in an exceptional environment. Key Responsibilities:

• To provide a high quality housekeeping service to ensure all areas of the home are cleaned to a high standard and that all linen and resident’s personal clothing/items are correctly laundered
• To oversee all domestic staff and to ensure all duties are completed to the desired standards.
• You will be responsible for ordering cleaning stock and ensuring stock levels are correct at all times.
• To ensure that all areas of the Care Home are cleaned to a high standard in compliance with the specific cleaning guidelines and schedules and that they effectively meet the residents’ and homes needs.
• To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, including their right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• To understand and comply with all statutory and legal requirements that are relevant such as Health & Safety, COSHH, and all aspects of the Health & Social Care Act, to ensure a safe and efficient laundry service in the home. Understand and have an awareness of Infection Control.
• To check that all residents’ personal clothing and items are individually labelled, maintained in good repair and returned to the correct resident in a timely manner after each laundry session.
• To respect and maintain confidentiality of resident’s personal information at all times, including resident’s right to privacy, dignity and choice.
• To ensure all equipment used is in full, safe working order, promptly reporting any faults to both Maintenance and the General Manager.
• To check all areas of the home are supplied with adequate housekeeping items and inform the manager of any shortages.
• To always be alert and use your own initiative, spot clean any spillages as they occur.
• To be an active and helpful member of the team, contribute to meeting, attend training sessions and ensure that The Care Home is a friendly and supportive working environment.

Hours of work: (09:00-16:00) and you will be expected to work Monday to Friday which will be 35 hours per week in total.

Hourly Rate of Pay: £14.05
