Job summary

Stow Healthcare Group is seeking a proactive Head Housekeeper to lead our housekeeping team in delivering high standards of cleanliness and infection control across the home.

You will manage stock, rotas, and support residents with daily cleaning tasks on the floor, inspiring your team to maintain spotless, welcoming surroundings for our residents and visitors.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cleaning role.
• Experience leading a team is preferred.
• Strong focus on infection prevention and control.

Responsibilities

• Lead and inspire the housekeeping team to maintain high standards.
• Order and manage stock for the housekeeping department.
• Manage rotas for the team and ensure adequate cover.
• Ensure the home looks spotless and smells fresh at all times.
• Support residents with daily cleaning activities on the floor.

Our Head Housekeeper role

As Head of our Housekeeping team, you are fundamental to the smooth running of the home every day for our residents. Reporting to the Home Manager, you will ensure that you lead and inspire your team, promoting high standards of infection control, cleanliness and an eye for detail. You will feel comfortable in ordering and managing stock, managing rotas for your team and ensuring the home looks and smells spotless at all times. You will be working on the floor with your team, supporting them in their duties.

The skills you’ll need

A natural communicator, you will benefit from having previous experience in a cleaning role, and preferably in leading a team. You will be passionate about high standards and confident in ensuring that your team help deliver these. Infection Prevention and Control will be high on your agenda, but you also need to be a people person and to enjoy the time you will spend interacting with residents each day as you clean their room and their home.
