Job summary

Care South is seeking a dedicated housekeeping supervisor to lead the daily delivery of housekeeping and laundry services at Kenwith Castle, a 54-bed residential and dementia care home in Bideford. You will supervise the housekeeping and laundry team, ensure cleaning, laundry and equipment are maintained to health and safety guidelines, and present rooms to a high standard.

Hours are 32.5 per week with flexible shifts between 8:00am and 6:00pm and alternate weekend work.

Qualifications

• Experience in a care home setting is not essential; you must enjoy housekeeping.
• Flexible in hours and happy to join a larger housekeeping team.
• Ability to work 32.5 hours per week and alternate weekends.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily housekeeping and laundry operations.
• Supervise the housekeeping and laundry team.
• Ensure cleaning, laundry and equipment are maintained per health & safety guidelines.
• Prepare schedules identifying and allocating daily, weekly, monthly duties.
• Order cleaning products and PPE and stock First Aid boxes.

Job description

Managing the daily delivery of all housekeeping and laundry services including supervision of the housekeeping and laundry team. - Ensuring that cleaning, laundry and domestic equipment is maintained by staff in accordance with manufacturing instructions and health & safety guidelines. - All minor faults and repairs are reported promptly and recorded. - Ensuring that rooms for viewing are presented to a high standard. - Preparing schedules which identify and allocate responsibility for daily, weekly, monthly, annual and cyclical cleaning / maintenance tasks. - Ordering stock of cleaning products and PPE including ensuring all First Aid boxes are appropriately stocked and sited in accessible areas in the event of an emergency.

Previous experience within a care home setting is not essential - but we want you to come in and enjoy housekeeping! - A real desire to create a fresh and welcoming environment for residents, staff and visitors to enjoy. - Flexible in the hours that you work and happy to join in as part of a larger housekeeping team.
