Job summary

Dakota Hospitality Limited (Dakota Hotels) in Manchester is seeking a Head Host for our Bar & Grill team. You will lead the guest arrival experience, ensuring a warm, professional welcome and seamless daily operations alongside the Restaurant Manager.

The role offers permanent, full-time hours (27.5 per week) with shifts usually of 7 hours across 5 days. Basic pay plus average tronc (£15.30/hour) and staff benefits, including meals on duty and wellbeing support, are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in hosting or receptionist roles.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Strong guest-service orientation and hospitality passion.
• Flexible with shift patterns and able to work at pace.

Responsibilities

• Lead guest arrival experience and welcome guests.
• Coordinate with Restaurant Manager to ensure smooth operations.
• Maintain host stand and cloakroom, manage reservations and inquiries.
• Provide menu knowledge and personal recommendations.
• Drive up-sell and upsell opportunities through attentive service.
• Communicate dining details for groups and VIPs to relevant teams.
• Log guest notes, allergies and special requests accurately.
