The Balmoral, a Rocco Forte Hotel, is seeking enthusiastic hosts to join our front desk team in Edinburgh. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the host desk and ensure a seamless guest journey from reservation to departure.

Greet guests, coordinate reservations and table allocations, mentor the host team, and collaborate with restaurant, kitchen and reception to deliver exceptional service in a busy, prestigious setting.

• Ensure a seamless guest journey from reservation to departure.
• Lead by example, creating memorable first impressions while supporting restaurant management.
• Be the first contact and provide a flawless welcome to our guests.
• Manage reservations, coordinating table allocations and guest flow.
• Mentor the host team.
• Liaise closely with restaurant, kitchen, and reception teams to ensure smooth operations.
• Interpret, understand, and act on guests' needs with discretion and clear team communication.
• Ensure guests' expectations are met at all times.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Oversee the day to day operation of the host desk
• Ensure a seamless guest journey from the reservation through to departure
• Lead by example, creating memorable first impression whislt supporting the restaurant management and supervisory team
• Be the first contact and provide a flawless welcome to our discerning guests
• Manage the reservations, coordinating table allocations and overseeing guest flow
• Mentor the host team
• Liaise closely with restaurant, kitchen, and reception teams to ensure smooth operations
• Interpret, understand, and act on the needs of our guests, demonstrating discretion in your interactions and being able to communicate effectively with the team to guarantee guests' needs are met.
• Make sure the expectations of our guests are met at all times
• Act naturally in all your communications
