Job summary

Menter a Busnes in Pembrokeshire, Wales, is seeking an experienced Dairy Herd Manager to oversee day-to-day herd welfare, production and performance. You will work with the Head of Farming to use data and performance information to drive improvements in milk yield, fertility and overall efficiency, while embracing robotic milking and modern farming practices.

You should have strong practical dairy experience, excellent stockmanship, and be comfortable analysing KPIs and trends.

Qualifications

• Strong practical dairy farming and herd management experience.
• Excellent livestock husbandry and welfare knowledge.
• Experience with calving, fertility and herd health management.
• Confident with herd performance data and KPIs.
• Full UK driving licence.
• NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage dairy herd to high welfare and husbandry standards.
• Monitor milk production, fertility, herd health and longevity.
• Oversee calving, youngstock development and colostrum management.
• Analyse herd KPIs and trends to identify improvements.
• Utilise herd data and robotic milking data to guide decisions.
• Support implementation of robotic milking technology.
• Collaborate with vets, nutritionists, and breeding advisors.
• Lead and develop the farm team; ensure health and safety.
• Drive continuous improvement and sustainability.
