Job description

We are looking for a Head Cook to prepare nourishing and well-presented meals. The role involves creating seasonal menus based on input from residents, families, and management, while considering dietary requirements. The candidate must ensure the kitchen complies with all hygiene and safety regulations.

Rate of Pay: £15.05 per hour

Contract Type: Permanent

Contract Hours: Full time

Duties and Responsibilities:
  1. Develop seasonal menus with input from residents, families, and the Home Manager, ensuring meals are suitable for diverse backgrounds, cultures, and dietary needs.
  2. Deliver excellent dining experiences, focusing on meal presentation and service.
  3. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  4. Manage food standards and monitor practices to uphold high quality.
  5. Implement effective financial controls and adhere to budget constraints.
  6. Lead, supervise, and develop the kitchen team, including conducting appraisals and inducting new staff.
Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:
  • Hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above.
